Issue

A property to point to the source / original post is needed.

Use case

When a site is aggregating data from community sites and exposing the collected information over the web.

 See http://www.boardtracker.com/.

In generic RDF aggregator we would just keep the source data as-is (using original URIs). But there are cases (as in BoardTracker) where:

  1. posts are mirrored by the aggregator (to provide additional services), giving them local / new URLs
  2. posts are displayed truncated (to make readers want to see the original site)

Then, if the aggregator exports data in SIOC, it needs a property that'll point to the original post.

Solution

What property can we use for this? Do we need a new property?

Options:

  1. use dc:source
  2. use sioc:has_sibling (but if it's abbreviated it's not really a sibling.)
  3. ...
