What values to use to describe formats of dcat:Distribution?

State:
CLOSED
Product:
dcat
Raised by:
Fadi Maali
Opened on:
2010-06-10
Description:
MIME Type is a very good candidate, however there are some issues to resolve:
1. some formats like ESRI shape files do not have a standardised MIME type.
2. Do we use URIs("http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/text/csv") or the textual description("text/csv")?
3. Should dcat recommend values for frequently occurring types?
