Introduction

All groups have their own preferred mode of operation, rules, culture, etc. An introduction page helps newcomers get up to speed on the group's practices.

  • Describe ways to participate (e.g., editor, test editor, reviewer) and expectations of participants

Decisions

  • If the decision policy is not in the charter, document it here; see the draft charter template for recommended text. Or, if it is in the charter, use this document to provide additional operational details.
  • Explain how the group records decisions
  • Does the group have an appeal process?

Meetings

  • Describe how/when the group meets (e.g., teleconference, occasional ftf, no meetings expected)
    • If there are regular teleconferences, provide the dial-up information
  • Describe practices for announcing agenda in advance, creating and distributing minutes

Tools

  • Explain how the group communicates (lists, irc, social media, other)
  • Set expectations for etiquette in group communications
  • Describe how the group tracks issues and actions (assignments to get work done)
