Tests 0005 Assertion: The user has the option to reset the containers and controls to their default configuration.

  1. Check the preference settings and documentation. If there is an option to reset the controls making up the user agent user interface to their default configuration, then select PASS
  2. Check all of the user agent user interface for on-screen controls (e.g. toolbars and controls in them, status bars and indicators or controls in them, menu bars and the menus and menu commands in them, etc.) whose display can be customized.
  3. For each type of control that can be customized:
    1. If the display of this type of control (including whether it is hidden, its size, shape, color, icon, and its location) cannot be configured, skip to the next type of control.
    2. If, once the display options for this type of control is changed, they cannot be returned to their default configuration (either by a command acting on a specific control or a set of controls), then select FAIL
  4. Select PASS (all controls must have passed)
