Tests 0004 Assertion: The user can choose to view, assign or change default keystrokes or gestures used to activate controls.

  1. Check all of the user agent user interface for on-screen controls (e.g. toolbars and controls in them, status bars and indicators or controls in them, menu bars and the menus and menu commands in them, etc.), possibly from a product feature list or trial and error.
  2. If the user agent does not provide on-screen controls of any type, select SKIP.
  3. For each type of on-screen control:
    1. If the device has keyboard input, determine whether you can assign or change an assigned keyboard shortcut that activates this control. If you cannot find a way to assign such a keyboard shortcut, then select FAIL
    2. If the device has gesture input, and this control can be activated by a gesture, determine whether you can change the gesture that activates this control. If you cannot find a way to change this gesture, then select FAIL
  4. Select PASS (all controls must have passed)
