[Draft] Requirements for Existing Tools Page
The ERT WG coordinates with EOWG to develop and maintain the existing tools page ("Evaluation, Repair, and Transformation Tools for Web Content Accessibility"). This document describes the requirements for this resource.
Audience
- Primary audience: Web developers (designers, content authors, etc) who want to comply with Web accessibility standards
- Secondary audiences: procurement officers, professional evaluators, and accessibility researchers

Background
Currently the list of tools is rather long and does not provide a good overview for users of the page. A sorting capability would allow users to find tools more efficiently. The following steps need to be taken in order to implement the sorting functionality effectively:
- define a list of characteristics under which the tools could be sorted (name, vendor, language, etc)
- define how the entries will be formatted when their data is pulled from the database
- fill the database with as much information as easily findable (via the current entry, Web, etc)
- implement the sorting functionality and coordinate with EOWG on its usability
- contact the tool vendors to update their entries or provide additional information
