Authoring Tool Guidelines Working Group

Atag evaluations of Dreamweaver 4.0

There are two evaluations of Macromedia Dreamweaver 4's conformance to the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG).

Jan Richards performed an evaluation against the ATAG 1.0 Recommendation. Giorgio Brajnik, of UsableNet, evaluated Dreamweaver with the 508 Accessibility Suite v 1.2.1 against an early draft of ATAG "Wombat" - the working group's draft of a next version of ATAG, which is slightly different from the Recommendation, but contains many of the same requirements and can be readily compared. Neither of these reviews is complete, and although they have some overlap each has some distinctive features so they should be read together. It is hoped that in the near future a combined report can be developed, by using the EARL technology under development.

There is also a review of Dreamweaver 3.0 by Charles McCathieNevile, available.
