W3C-LA Mirroring Activity [Partners only]

Introduction

The goal of this activity is to find a way of mirroring the W3C Site around Europe in the W3C-LA Member Sites :

• RAL
• SICS
• CWI
• GMD
• FORTH

Particularly, we will have to resolve some interesting problems :

• Load balancing over mirrors : how should we manage to have users going to the closest mirror ?
• Update and Synchronization from master to mirrors site : how are we going to send updates to mirror sites and how are we going to ensure synchronization ?
• Multilingualism : How are we going to have the same information in different languages and to give this info to the user ?

The more general aim is to define and implement a complete mirroring system we could validate by mirroring  the W3C Site around the world.

The results of this research topic will be made publicly available at the end of the W3C-LA Project.
