This document describes the schema available from the SKOS XL namespace. The document is still under development and content may be subject to change.

Introduction

The Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) is a common data model for sharing and linking knowledge organization systems via the Semantic Web. SKOS XL defines an extension for the Simple Knowledge Organization System, providing additional support for describing and linking lexical entities.This document provides a brief description of the SKOS RDF Schema for XL.

For detailed information about the SKOS Recommendation, please consult the SKOS Reference [SKOS-REFERENCE] or the SKOS Primer [SKOS-PRIMER].

SKOS XL RDF Schema

The SKOS XL data model expressed as RDF triples (in so far as possible) is given in the following resource:

SKOS XL RDF Schema. Note that the vocabulary is served via content negotiation, using Recipe 3 (see SWD Best Practice Recipes for Publishing Vocabularies [RDF-RECIPES]), so clients requiring RDF/XML should include an appropriate "Accept" header in the HTTP request. Alternatively, download the RDF schema without content negotiation.
