W3C CSS1 Test Suite

The CSS1 Test Suite is provided as a way for vendors and page authors to test their browser's conformance to the CSS1 specification. In order to use it most effectively, you will NEED to make sure that you have completely read our How the Suite Works before you start testing.

This test suite is organized around individual properties of Cascading Style Sheets, Level 1 (CSS1). For each property, there is at least one page which tests the values in various combinations and using different types of HTML 4.0 markup. These test pages are broken out into a number of sections which reflect the structure of the CSS1 specification itself:

Feedback regarding the CSS1 Test Suite should be sent to css-test@w3.org.

Corrections and other changes made to the tests in this and previous versions are documented in the Version History. If you'd like to know a little bit more about what went into the creation of this suite, and who was involved, as well as plans for the future, please read About this Suite. You may also be interested in some historical W3C CSS tests, as well as NIST's CSS test pages; these last are highly specific tests which may be somewhat overwhelming to the average reader.

The CSS1 Test Suite is a joint effort of the World Wide Web Consortium, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Case Western Reserve University.
