Description Leif Halvard Silli 2010-06-21 02:05:19 UTC
I note that some part of the spec seems to take XHTML 1.0 Appendix C as a starting point. For example, the advice in Appendix C to avoid multiple space characteres inside attributes – seems to have been lifted out of Appendix C directly by you. There does, however, not seemsto be not basis for that requirement.

So, I suggest that just like there is a document which documetns the differences betwen HTML4 and HTML5, there should be a section of the polyglot spec which documents the history of the polyglot spect, starting with Appendix C and possible some other documents.

I would like to propose a text for this, unless you object. Though, if you agree, feel free to start.

The history part should have two parts: 1) Document the roots of the Polyglot spec - link it back to Appendix C. 2) Describe some difference betwen Appendix C and the polyglot spec.

Hi Leif.

Feel free to write this up if you think that it will help readers. I'll add it to the spec when it's ready.

Let me know what I can do to help.

Thanks so much,

Eliot

This bug has been open and idle for quite some time with no progress indicated for the section proposed. I am therefore resolving it with the status of "needs info." Please either provide the content that is mentioned in the bug or let the bug remain as resolved.

Thanks,

Eliot
