Section 10.1.1 "obsolete permitted DOCTYPE" strings. It is not explicitely stated which MIME-types can or should be used for these obsolete permitted doctypes. For example: I guess that it is not allowed to use MIME-type text/html with the doctype string for XHTML 1.0 Strict. Correct?
The MIME type to use doesn't depend on the DOCTYPE. It depends on whether the document is to be treated as HTML or XHTML. Technically, if you're using XHTML 1.0, then you should use an XML MIME type. Though, if you use text/html, like most people do, then the document will be treated as HTML. This is not a bug in the spec, resolving invalid.
