Description Danil Shapovalov 2004-11-04 22:46:10 UTC
I have a page that use charset koi8-r.
If there is line that have characters with code > 0x80 and it has an error,
then error report correctly, column reported correctly, but position where error
was detected points to a wrong place

I made a special page (http://shap.homedns.org/validate.html
) to demonstrate it
so check
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://shap.homedns.org/validate.html

Thanks for the report;

this is a more or less known limitation of our current character encoding
handling. A possible fix for this issue is scheduled for a future version
(exact timing is still very uncertain; don't expect it any time soon).

Meanwhile, may we include this page in our test suite to make it easier to
verify the status of this issue in the future?
