Description Cynthia Shelly 2010-03-25 21:29:31 UTC
This bug defines the work item that goes along with ACTION-138 http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/138.

The work is to:

Define mappings between HTML Elements and ARIA roles and properties
between HTML Elements and Accessibility APIs
which elements can be overridden by which roles
which attributes can be overridden by which aria properties.

Note that there is a separate work item in PF to map ARIA roles and properties to accessiblity apis on a variety of native platforms.

Marking as NEEDSINFO per agreement at http://www.w3.org/2010/03/25-html-wg-minutes.html#item12 . Simply REOPEN and assign to the relevant editor when the full list of changes is available. Alternately, open separate bugs on each change (this latter option being preferred).

This bug relates to http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/actions/138 and http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/35 .

The bug triage sub-team believes the HTML A11Y TF should take up this bug. Additional notes may follow in a separate comment.
Comment 4 Michael Cooper 2010-08-31 16:21:13 UTC
Bug triage sub-team thinks this bug can now be considered a duplicate of 10066. But we want to verify this with Cynthia and determine if the ARIA mapping sub-team is tracking 10066. Is it ok to mark this bug as resolved duplicate of 10066?

HTML5 code for difference between images, shapes, pictures, canvas elements, maps, objects with no given or null field for image source in http. I could put an alt=" " but not necessary. What is the HTML rule on this object, picture of a shape for a logo at the head of the body or first header?
Comment 9 Charles McCathieNevile 2016-02-23 11:42:36 UTC
This has been done, as a work item. ARIA in HTML, and ARIA HTML mapping guide.
