Description Pascal Pignard 2008-10-20 19:49:56 UTC
Hello.
I've copied and paste the following text in Mac app TextEdit.
Then the French accent are represented with their UTF8 codes instead of corresponding characters:

Amaya s'adapte à vos besoins : cinq profils sont fournis avec différents ensembles de menus et de barres d'outils. Voir les Préférences.

Hope this help.

Normally entities are used in source code when these characters are not defined in the used encoding. So there is normally no entities with UTF8.

I guess Mac app TextEdit generates in fact source code.
If you want to paste source code, you have to paste it in the source view and not in the formatted view.

It's exactly the same if you want to paste an example of html code in the formatted view <p>aaa</p>. It must be kept as this and not interpreted as a paragraph. If you paste in the source view, a new paragraph is added to the document.

I understand the difference between the two explain modes.
Nevertheless I'm remembering some previous Amaya version where copy and paste from Mac apps was direct in the formatted view.
Let say the workaround works but is just a little bit annoying.
Is it not possible to come back to a more natural way ?
Thanks, Pascal.

Hello.
Behaviour has changed in last Amaya version 11.
Copy and paste of French accent is now direct again in formated view.
Many thanks.
