Description Xan Gregg 2007-09-26 00:36:35 UTC
In section 3.12.6, there is the rule:

   3.12.6 Constraints on Type Alternative Schema Components

   2 If the {test} is not ·absent·, then it satisfies the constraint
      Test Value OK (§3.13.6), with the following modification:
      Comparator in Alternative XPath expressions
     [8]   Comparator   ::=   '=' | '!=' | '<' | '<=' | '>' | '>='

However, as far as I can tell, [8] is identical to [18] in 3.13.6:

     [18]  Comparator   ::=   '=' | '!=' | '<' | '<=' | '>' | '>='

The corrections accepted by the XML Schema WG on today's call, in
order to resolve this issue, are shown in an attachment to bug 5074
(http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/attachment.cgi?id=517).

With this change, the WG believes we have resolved this issue fully.

I'm changing the status of this record accordingly.

to the Director, then also change the Status of the record to
Reopened. If you wish to record your dissent, but do not wish to
appeal the decision to the Director, then change the Status of the

will assume you agree with the WG decision.
