3 Full-Text Selections

[1]
"In the following the syntax"
    After "following", insert comma.

[2]
"A full-text selection specifies the possible full-text search conditions"
    Why just the "possible" conditions?
Comment 1 Jochen Doerre 2007-09-10 19:41:36 UTC
[1]: done
[2]: left as is.
Would you prefer "alternatives". Isn't that the "possibilities"?

Best,
 /Jochen

You mean,
"A full-text selection specifies the alternative full-text search conditions"
? I don't think that's an improvement.

To me, including the word "possible" suggests a distinction from "actual" (where the actual is a subset of the possible), which I don't think is the intent.

If we just deleted "possible":
"A full-text selection specifies the full-text search conditions"
wouldn't that convey the right idea?

Hi Michael,

this bug can be closed. The spec now contains the wording
(as agreed upon in FTTF-153 telecon:
 http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-query-fttf/2007Sep/0013.html)

A full-text selection specifies the conditions of a full-text search.
