ftand produces new matches by combining the matches of the operands (cross-products). This should be described in section 3 in more detail.

The Task Force agrees with your comment and has approved new text that significantly clarifies the description of ftand.  We are marking this bug FIXED. Since you participated in creation of the solution, we believe that your concerns are satisfied and are also marking the bug CLOSED.
