Description David Carlisle 2006-07-14 02:12:14 UTC
The K-VersionProlog-x series all have comments rather than white space

xquery(::)version(::)"1.0"(::)encoding(::)"ISO-8859-1|"; 1

but Xquery  section 4.1 says

If a version declaration is present, no Comment may occur before the end of the version declaration. If such a Comment is present, the result is implementation-dependent.

I don't think the tests intend to touch implementation-dependent features here and I suggest they use spaces instead.

I agree, the tests are wrong. Fixed in CVS as suggested. Feel free to change status to CLOSED if the resolution is satisfactory.

(It's a pity it's just "implementation defined". It would be better if the implementation was required to raise an error so these things were better defined.)
