Comment from Michael Sperberg-McQueen see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-i18n-its/2006AprJun/0097.html : [["Terminology" data category: What is the relation to existing terminology standards? A suggestion was to make that clear in the draft.]]
Added Michael to the CC list.
Action: working group to discuss.
Discussed during the teleconference. Yves to propose some additional text for section 6.4.1. Current text: The terminology data category is used to mark terms. This helps to increase consistency across different parts of the documentation. It is also helpful for translation. Proposed additional text: Note: Existing terminology standards such as ISO 12200 [http://www.iso.org/iso/en/CatalogueDetailPage.CatalogueDetail?CSNUMBER=21174] and its derived formats are about coding terminology data, while the ITS terminology data category simply allows to identify terms in XML documents and optionally to point to corresponding information.
Closed.
I am satisfied with this resolution. Thank you.
Summary: The Working Group agreed to accept the proposal and clarified the relation of the "Terminology" data category to existing standards.
