In 3.3.5.4, it seems odd that "+1" is allowed and "+INF" is not.
Comment 2 David Ezell 2007-11-16 16:31:37 UTC
WG decided to allow +INF in the lexical types of all data types that allow INF.
Comment 3 C. M. Sperberg-McQueen 2008-06-04 14:39:04 UTC
A wording proposal to implement the decision recorded in comment #2 is
at http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2004/06/xmlschema-2/datatypes.b3659.html
(member-only link).

As I post this comment, I learn that one error remains in that proposal,
for which I propose the following amendment: in 3.3.5.2 (for float)
and 3.3.6.2 (for double), change the right-hand side of the EBNF rule
by deleting "minimalNumericalSpecialRep" and inserting "numericalSpecialRep".
In D.1.1. optionally merge numericalSpecialRep and minimalNumericalSpecialRep
into a single production. (Optional because having two productions is not
wrong, it's only unmotivated now.)
Comment 4 C. M. Sperberg-McQueen 2008-06-07 01:20:54 UTC
The proposal mentioned in comment #3 was adopted today.

Michael, as the emissary of the QT WGs, we ask you to inform them of this
resolution and signal their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with it
in the usual way. Thanks.
