Description C. M. Sperberg-McQueen 2006-03-25 17:44:06 UTC
This issue was originally reported by Yan Leshinsky.

Revise the derivation of complex-type restriction so as to eliminate
the problems with pointless occurrences. Currently, it eliminates
some derivations that should otherwise be valid.

See R-24 (http://www.w3.org/2001/05/xmlschema-rec-comments#pfipointless).

Microsoft proposals, item 1.2 (member-only link)

This item was discussed in the meeting of 2004-04-09
(http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-xml-schema-ig/2004Apr/0178.html).

This item was closed in the meeting of 2004-05-13
(http://www.w3.org/XML/Group/2004/05/xml-schema-ftf-minutes.html). It
has been overtaken by events: if RQ-17 (#restrictn-rules) succeeds,
this has no referent in the spec.

Accordingly, this should be marked RESOLVED / WONTFIX.
