dfn.js only works for the single-page version.

Got it; I'd be fooled by previous instances working because the term was used often nearby. I guess that's a separate bug, but not necessarily one that needs to be solved right now.

FWIW I made an extra pre-processer thing once that enabled the dfn links to  work in the multipage version as well. But it made the build take a bit longer and IIRC Hixie didn't want to add it because of that.

That anyway was still back in the time when the pre-processer stuff was all written in python. I don't know how much work it might be to try to reproduce it under the current preprocesser Hixie has set up now (and if it might possible to make it any faster now), but if anybody cares enough about trying to make the dfn links work across the multipage version that we figure it's worth the time to try to add it, I can make some time to try myself.
