Description Frans Englich 2005-11-13 09:09:47 UTC
Hello,

I would find the XQTS test suite even more useful if XQTSCatalog.xsd allow the
xml:* and XInclude vocabulary.

As a wish, support on all elements. And if that's not possible for some reason,
the central/major elements.

From my perspective I don't see a reason to do the same with Results.xsd, but
one thing's certain: to add xml:* and XInclude support to Results.xsd now,
would ensure the format wouldn't be constraining the day one do need it.

Cheers,
Frans

Frans, you say that broadening the catalog schema in this way would make the test suite more useful. Please expand on this. As you can imagine, our resources are not without limit.

The idea is this: by making the catalog format more practical, powerful, and flexible, it increases the chances of people using it for test harnesses, and therefore increases the chances of test case submissions and that people actually run the XQTS.

However, after starting to patch XQTSCatalog.xsd I realized, considering technical issues which are not so obvious and your limited resources, that it doesn't make sense, and therefore I decide to withdraw this comment.

Nevertheless, I'll attach the patch for (any) future reference.

Sorry for the noise,
Frans
