Description Jim Melton 2005-09-25 19:25:29 UTC
The many diagrams that appear in the formal semantics section (Section 4) of the
Full-Text spec have served very well during the development of the
specification. However, they are not of the quality needed in a published
Recommendation, due to problems such as imprecisely drawn lines, inconsistently
sized boxes, inconsistent text, and unclear relationships between separate
"images" that are actually part of the same "picture".

The diagrams must all be redrawn with final publication in mind.

Now that I have been able to download to my computer all of the graphics in
their source format, I plan to begin incrementally working on them. I do not,
at this time, have an estimated date of completion of all of the graphics.

The diagrams have all been re-drawn and uploaded. There are some concerns with the size of the print in the diagrams, so users of the document are invited to express opinions on the subject. Increasing the font size is more problematic than it might seem on the surface for several reasons, but something can no doubt be done.
