similar to bug 16629. Firefox doesn't expose STATE_LINKED on it but keeps ROLE_LINK.

See comments on bug 16629. Why does Firefox keep ROLE_SYSTEM_LINK on <area> with no @href, since it no longer represents a link to something else, as per the definition of ROLE_SYSTEM_LINK? [1] Wouldn't ROLE_SYSTEM_TEXT be more appropriate?

Regarding Internet Explorer's implementation, while it uses ROLE_SYSTEM_TEXT, the use of STATE_SYSTEM_LINKED for <area> elements with and without @href doesn't seem correct.

was changed to IA2_ROLE_SHAPE in bug 12703
