Description Andreas Prilop 2005-07-13 18:51:58 UTC
Please add finally support for the Thai encoding ISO-8859-11.
You have been waiting for *years* that ISO-8859-11 is registered by IANA.
This never happens because people at IANA are
[ ] lazy
[ ] asleep
[ ] dead
[ ] all of the above.

I'll take care of the registration.

Although it appears the IANA listing is not going to happen any time soon (for reasons I don't grasp entirely and won't dare judge) it seems that our debian system sports versions of Encode.pm and iconv that have support for this encoding.

Will need some testing (do you have any sample handy?), but targeting upcoming maintenance release 0.7.3.

The CVS versions of the maintenance branch (soon to be released) and development tip both now support ISO-8859-11 (and tis-620).
