Description C. M. Sperberg-McQueen 2011-07-28 16:43:36 UTC
Section 2 currently has a note reading

Editorial Note: What happens when X is not a recognized block name?
It's not an error, strictly speaking, since the grammar accepts any
sequence of Basic Latin alphanumerics and hyphens.

This question has now been resolved; the document should point to section G.4.2.4 of Datatypes.

The statement about \p{X} = [^\P[X}] for all X should also be qualified; it's true for all X where X is a recognized block name, not for unrecognized names.
