Description Michael Joyce 2011-07-22 17:02:15 UTC
The description of the scope attribute on a th element in http://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/th.html#th.attrs.scope does not mention "auto" as the missing value default of the @scope attribute on a <th> element, which is documented in http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/tabular-data.html#attr-th-scope.

In searching for documentation for @scope Google returned search results for html-markup first rather than the HTML5 draft spec. This has caused confusion.

The html-markup document should be updated to reflect the default value of @scope.
