Description Henri Sivonen 2010-10-20 14:17:05 UTC
Please provide example pictures of possible renderings for a date picker and for a number spinbox. Please make it clear that a date picker doesn't need to expose the ISO date format to the user and that a number field can render a non-point decimal separator to the user.
Comment 1 Ian 'Hixie' Hickson 2010-12-27 23:35:54 UTC
The lack of examples was unintentional to not bias the initial implementations.

If anyone has any good screen shots of plausible usable date or number controls, though, I'd be happy to eventually add them to the spec. Please attach them to this bug.

Status: Rejected.
Change Description: no spec change
Rationale: In response to another bug I made it clear that the date picker doesn't need to expose the ISO date format, since that has been a source of confusion. I haven't seen confusion about the other point.

See comment 1, though. While implementations are still new, I think we should avoid having examples. However, if people want examples, and can provide images that show excellent designs (and that would thus at least bias implementations in a positive way), reopen the bug and I'll add them. I'm no UI guy. Marking NEEDSINFO since we need images to proceed.
