Comment:
Should the canonical case for GET/POST/PUT/DELETE be lowercase instead of
uppercase? IE (8 and 9PP4) seem to treat it as lowercase, and they're the
only ones that canonicalize case at all here, as far as I can tell. This
alerts "get" in IE8/9PP4 and "GeT" in all other browsers: <!doctype
html><script>var el = document.createElement("form");
el.setAttribute("method", "GeT"); alert(el.method);</script>

In Firefox nightlies it now alerts "get", matching IE. Also note that every single other enumerated attribute in all of HTML (at least among those limited to only known values) has lowercase canonical values.

(Somewhat unfortunate as HTTP methods are case-sensitive.)

Checked in as WHATWG revision r5540.
Check-in comment: Make the .method IDL attribute return lowercase values.
