What would it mean?

An <ol> is a list of items. An <li> is an item. An <ol> isn't an item.

If you do:

    <ol>
      <li>...A...</li>
      <ol>
        <li>...B...</li>
      </ol>
      <li>...C...</li>
    </ol>

...then what is B? What is the second item of the outer list?
