The errata for the language data type in http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/PER- xmlschema-2-20040318/datatypes-with-errata.html#language contains an error in the pattern definition. Fixed in the published second edition by removing the leading open bracket '('. Propose to mark this as resolved/fixed.
