Summary It seems more accurate to say that the media element "is not currently playing" instead of saying "is paused or not". The phrase "is paused" seems to imply that it's been manually paused by the user but this would not apply when a page is first viewed an <video> It seems more accurate to say that the media element "is not currently playing" instead of saying "is paused or not".
