Meeting minutes
[new] review stale github issues (aria #2151)
matt: interested in item 1.
… examples?
pkra: scotto had marked w3c/
matt: interesting case. gridcell is a widget. There would be more changes necessary.
scotto: right. my comment was purely about the fact that stage 1 from joanie's last comment has been resolved.
matt: sounds good. Old but still useful.
pkra: I also closed a very old one on my end.
matt: sounds like a simpler query then, i.e., everything older than e.g. 1 year
… seems like aria repository is not doing so badly
… 75 issues not updated since March last year https://
scotto: but if we touch them, that won't work.
… maybe "created before 2020"
pkra: 89 https://
matt: I see one on live region roles. I'd love to deprecate some of them.
scotto: maybe just put them on the agenda to make a quick resolution.
… e.g., I recently had a request for mappings for deprecated elements. That's very odd.
matt: right. I should just update the issue or close and open a new one.
… e.g., log is really not a good way to do a log.
… how does html feel about marquee?
scotto: no real interest.
matt: ok. I'll go through some of them.
… for a general approach on new issues, maybe for things that are potentially real issues, how do we keep track that we have looked but won't pursue it.
… I don't think we want a situation where we just create an issue for the same thing
pkra: there are some issues that are primarily blocked by implementations, e.g., audio/video elements. So when something like the recent aria-flowTo question came up, we don't really have a good category.
matt: sometimes it does happen, e.g., recent maxlength.
pkra: then there's also leftovers from role-parity work, e.g., input types, canvas.
matt: right. Maybe we can have a yearly "revisit 5 year old issues" session.
… just rapid fire keep/don'tkeep/agenda
pkra: maybe quarterly 15mins of review
scotto: just using a regular meeting to review all the stale issues and PRs.
pkra: we'll probably soon enter 1.3 cleanup phase.
[continue] monorepo aria-common #110 // PR/Merge process (aria #2055)
matt: what's the status here?
pkra: physical meeting is off the table. But virtual one is still planned, I think. Either dedicated or TPAC adjacent.
matt: for APG thinking about outdated acknowledgments. I'm not sure what we want but would like to be consistent.
daniel: there's an ongoing PR to use the w3c list data to replace the manual lists.
… but let's follow up.
… there is some guidance from w3c.
matt: sounds good
