New Issue Triage
add to deprecation discussion at TPAC
someone should look into HTML to see if there are strict authoring requirements
jamesn: consistency would seem good
New PR Triage
<scotto> agreed with matt, look to see what HTML is doing, but maybe it doesn't need to be as strict

TPAC Agenda
spectranaut_: there has been 1 change since last week where the tuesday notification proposal has been moved up 30 mins due to a meta XR presentation happening right after
https://
AT Driver meeting
<Marcelo_Paiva> w3c/
mariob: propose interactive lists for the Tuesday morning sessions
matt: thinks that Stefan also proposed this
<melsumner> question: is there a tpac-focused IRC channel for this group, or will we use this channel?
scotto: Sarah had done a bunch of pre-work on that
spectranaut_: there is the aria wiki
matt: can also use a gist
matt: or discussions too
<scotto> sarah said "oh that's fine" re: 12:30 am meeting time

Question regarding aria-haspopup=false
spectranaut_: small issue
aaronlev: wouldn't we want it to be a MUST NOT so we can write WPTs
jamesn: thought that IA2 just passed all the attributes
aaronlev: not that cut and dry
aaronlev: do we correct for incorrect markup is probably different in each browser
aaronlev: can be a lot of extra code
jamesn: would this just be busy work to fix this?
aaronlev: could be a huge amount of effort to restrict/repair things with little benefit
spectranaut_: maybe this doesn't need to be a MUST as there is no known problem
spectranaut_: think this was purely a spec correction
jamesn: should it be AT or UA?
giacomo: if browsers would make a change and consider role combobox with aria-haspopup=false should they provide the default listbox
matt: a combobox should never have haspopup=false
giacomo: what would happen if someone does
matt: if you don't specify then UA would expose a list
matt: At does nothing with haspopup on combo right now
StefanS: what would happen if someone put aria-haspopup=grid on a combobox
matt: currently allows that
matt: honestly don't think we need haspopup on combo boxes
matt: it is problematic in general if AT exposes haspopup=false
StefanS: have seen use cases for grid
matt: that is allowed
spectranaut_: sounds like this is intentional and we should move on
matt: seems like ideally it would be a mUST not but would seem like a should not would mean we don't need to fix it in browsers right now
spectranaut_: 2 questions
spectranaut_: first it says AT - not UA
spectranaut_: think we don't need to change
matt: could have both
AT&UA should not
Rahim: seems related to menubutton pattern where we don't set aria-expanded.
matt: got feedback that the APG pattern is confusing
maybe a PR to add 3 words
[Question] wai-aria/role/listbox-roles.html wpt test
matt: this applies to everything with required parents
scotto: spec is not clear on this right now
scotto: trying to write this rule in html-aam but there is nothing in aria
scotto: don't have any fallback
jamesn:
jamesn: we have authoring requirements
jamesn: propose adding something to the handling author errors section
jamesn: assign to scott
