#139 Typo, curriculums v curricula

Curricula is Latin, curriculums is American English

so Curriculums is the correct ues

<Fazio> issue 139 will be changed to curriculums

#140 Executive sponsor in place' vs 'Executive leadership in place

Charles will make the fix and reach out to Roy if he has issues

I've always used the term executive sponsor, because it implies a single individual responsible for promoting it at the executive level

David agreed

Charles said the issue came from being confused about what an executive sponsor was in the non-profit world

<Fazio> Add definition to executive sponsor

David suggested adding a definition

which everyone agreed to

<CharlesL> https://github.com/w3c/maturity-model/issues/140

executive sponsor is a single individual responsible for promoting accessibility at the executive level

Janina: add "in any type of organization" to the end

David asked for objections, there were non

The person implementing this change needs to link all references of Executive Sponsor to the new definition, and also link the word "organization" in the definition to the definition for that term

David: We need to add acronyms to the glossary and make sure we are spelling them out on first usage

David: there are other comments for that issue

there were no objections, so when we get to those tickets, we will close them out with that approach

Business strategy includes accessibility as a market differentiator

<Fazio> #142

https://github.com/w3c/maturity-model/issues/142

agreed to use the word "promoting" instead of marketing or advertising in the proof point that the language in the comment came from

<Fazio> 3.7.1 Proof Points Culture proof points may include but are not limited to: Business strategy includes digital accessibility as market differentiator - add promoting

Sheri: we should review the document and replace any use of marketing or advertising with promoting. It's a better term, more of an umbrella

there were no objections

<Fazio> side note: search document for word "advertising" and change all to promoting

don't replace market (the noun) just marketing (the verb)

<Fazio> 3.7.1 Proof Points Culture proof points may include but are not limited to: Business strategy includes digital accessibility as market differentiator - change to Business strategy includes promoting digital accessibility as market differentiator

https://github.com/w3c/maturity-model/issues/18

This is a comment from Jason. We couldn't schedule a meeting with him before he went on an extended trip to Australia. We will review all of Jason's comments with Jason present towards the end of the year when he has returned

Lionel: we need to make sure we are highlighting our differentiators from our competitors

Lionel: it's about transformation, getting accessibility out of an IT silo and spreading it across the organization

Janina: everything has a web component

Lionel: Conformance with WCAG is mostly about code

Sheri: WCAG conformance is about getting a specific version of a specific product accessible, the maturity model is about everything that needs to be done to keep it accessible, which is about way more than code

<Fazio> #138 Topic: #138 Duplicated info? Knowledge and Skills seemed to be repeated with the maturity stages section

So the answer we ended up for in the draft is both: general K&S goes in K&S, specific knowledge for a dimension goes in the dimension <Sheri_B-H> so an example would be ARIA - only ICT folx need training in that, so it goes in ICT

Janina: that sounds good, did we explain that in the K&S section

Sheri: I don't think so

no objections to adding this information to K&S

Fazio: should not do spreadsheet items today

Sheri_B-H: need jeff for those

Fazio: looks for items not Jake identified ...

CharlesL: suggests #143

Knowledge and Skills includes information that is generic to accessibility across more than one dimension. If there is knowledge and skills specific to a single dimension, that proof point is included in the single dimension, not knowledge and skills. For example, knowledge of ARIA is specific to ICT, so it is included as an ICT proof point. Basic information on disability inclusion is generic and would be included in knowledge and skills.

+1

<nadine> While this dimension includes proof points to be implemented at the organization level, knowledge and skills specific to each of the other dimensions should be included within their respective proof points, as appropriate.

leave that, add the example?

nadine: reads out current intro

hile this dimension includes proof points to be implemented at the organization level, knowledge and skills specific to each of the other dimensions should be included within their respective proof points, as appropriate. For example, knowledge of ARIA is specific to ICT, so it is included as an ICT proof point. Basic information on disability inclusion is generic and would be included in knowledge and skills.

Sheri_B-H: phps we only need the xample?

Sheri_B-H: add the example to the language already in the doc

Sheri_B-H: suggests tagging spreadsheet issues with a spreadsheet keyword, so we can schedule a spreadsheet specific call with jeff

David to create spreadsheet label, and tag those tickets for review at a meeting Jeff can attend

Sheri_B-H: suggests 7 December?

jeff: Yes

<Fazio> Label all spreadsheet issues and address them together with Jeff present

Sheri_B-H: behind on my todo's

CharlesL: when you catch up, Benetech can move forward, so thanks

jlkline: 2.4 no link to the template

<Fazio> Assessment Template link is missing

Sheri_B-H: thought we checked this with Roy

Sheri_B-H: it's a link, i just copied

https://www.w3.org/TR/maturity-model/

Sheri_B-H: scroll to the bottom of 2.4

Sheri_B-H: phps have other references we should also turn into hyperlinks

<CharlesL> 2.4 Assessment Template

<CharlesL> Make a copy of the https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/task-forces/research-questions/maturity-model/Overview.xlsx to get started.

jlkline: how will we work on it?

Sheri_B-H: i can put in a shared google sheet, then we can swap versions when we're happy with the edits

jlkline: formulas come across?

Sheri_B-H: Yes. I checked!

Sheri_B-H: Will send link to Google Sheet

CharlesL: suggests another sheet with just the worksheet values hdden?

Sheri_B-H: already done

<Fazio> agenda, next item

Janina: APA thinks we should be a task force, not a subgroup

Janina will provide a template for a work statement

Janina: we don't have to get a charter

Janina: that would give us a separate set of pages

Janina: Proposed name "Maturity Model Taskforce"

Review proposed work statement on Dec 14

Janina will send Sheri a template to put together a draft for Dec 14 review
