wilco is not sure we have a full meeting of agenda items

<Helen> Scribe: Will_C

wilco: helps scribe

Meeting May 5th?

Wilco: May not attend task force meetings for whole month of may

Kathy: Meetings run better when Wilco is here, but Trevor can help run it.
... I'll miss a couple in June too. Maybe twice in May?

Helen: Twice for May sounds better. No surveys, just PRs

Wilco: Likes a good survey

Kathy: I have write access for the sheets

Will: Calls for a vote?

Wilco: Leave it up to Kathy. But next week should probably be off

<Todd> I'm good either way with two meetings or more. Depending on how I'm feeling, I still tested positive for covid last night.

Helen: /s you might get more work done

Wilco: Next thursday is off. Kathy and Trevor will decide for the rest of the month

Todd: I get duplicate emails to email and list. Is there a way to just get the list emails?

Kathy: I'll look into it

RESOLUTION: No meeting May 5th, Kathy will let TF know about other meetings in May

ACT rules sheet and Survey Results

Wilco: akn7bn and 67b10 good for next week
... e7aa44 - has three approvals
... bc659a - gonna look at it because it should be ready
... Tom, can you accept some changes to b40c3

Open ACT pull requests

Wilco: 1839, need reviewers, got reviewers
... 1837 - need some reviewers. Tom? Close to start showing implementations on the wai website. this pull request describes how to get there
... 1837 - adding tom and carlos and helen
... 1834 - reverted. Discussed two weeks ago. need to put 1.4.10 back into meta viewport rule. Patrick then convinced us not to
... 1834 - most devices you don't reflow on zoom in.

Will: 1834 - mobile devices by design shouldn't reflow on zoom

Wilco: 1834 - take the rest of 1.4.10 out. Some in the background

Helen: 1834 - isn't there already a PR for this file?

Wilco: Do it separate, and they shouldn't collide.
... I should probably do this

everybody is okay with going back on the decision. including Kathy

PR 1834 is closed, WIlco opening new one

wilco: -1778 - anything to talk about?

Helen: I have two options to change, that's one too many options

<Wilco> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/pull/1833/files#r855359926

Kathy: Trying to get it to remove the note about label. but haven't seen 'visible identifier' in any of the rules

Helen: two files trying to keep it unified with . I used the format of the other files. whatever change is agreed here, I'll update there

yes

Wilco: Second option it is!
... it's all my fault on Will's pull request. Will did great.
... Kathy - 1828 - PR can go into review. One week is fine

WIlco - PR1825 - still waiting for reviews.

Wilco: Tom your PR1820 - still needs reviewers - kathy and helen added
... is 'dialogs' proper?
... PR1809 - two approvals, and need one more - adding Tom

TOm: Yeah, sure.

CFC AG recharter & ACT

Wilco: No objections to the recharter. Any further comments about the ACT portion?

Nope.

RESOLUTION: Accept ACT portion of AG recharter as proposed

Update from ACT implementations on WAI website

svg element with explicit role has non-empty accessible name (7d6734)

Wilco: No comments on this survey. 6 accepted as-is
... Proposed move of rule

Helen: Seconded

RESOLUTION: Accept SVG has name rule for AGWG

Object element rendering non-text content has non-empty accessible name (8fc3b6)

Wilco: some comments in it

Trevor noted he was not sure the assumption is relevant

Helen: It says it's an object, not an image. 1.1.1 rule - could be a layout table. Object doesn't define

Wilco: Above it it specifies it's mime type or image

Kathy: DO you have to assign role="img" if you want it to be meaningful

WIlco: Without a role or accessible name, AT ignore it (i think)

Helen: What about a decorative object, with has an alt="Sunset at the beach" would it fail?

Wilco: This assumption needs to be more explicit. What about role="none" on the object? We don't have a good example of this

Kathy: What about changing the ending of the assumption to "if the object is decorative but not marked as decorative, then the rule might fail" SOmething like that

Tom had a comment about nested objects

Wilco: I don't think you can nest objects

Tim: When object was created it was design to be nested for fallback, not sure it applies anymore

Wilco: I think it's not anymore.

Wilco: adding notes to the spreadsheet

Wilco and Tom speak about the olden times before ARIA

Wilco: Everyone cool with adding failed example with embedded elements inside <obj>
... Anyone up for liaising this thing. Wilco volunteers Helen

Helen: I'll give it a go

Update from ACT implementations on WAI website

<Wilco> https://deploy-preview-95--wai-wcag-act-rules.netlify.app/standards-guidelines/act/implementations/

Wilco: content is still very drafty. Focused on programmatic side. We are only looking at axe-core results today
... for a consistent implementation, the implementer reports the same success criteria as what failed. I have completed mapping . Now you can see it in 'accessibility Requirements' table
... for example 'Text has minimal contrast' - tool reports 1.4.3 but not also 1.4.6
... WHat else would we like to see from these pages?

Tom: can we list A, AA, AAA in expected?

Wilco: Consistency in coverage.
... Wanna pull back from Minimal. minimal is nuanced, partial covers it. SO it should all be partial

Will: I agree minimal is too much nuance

Wilco: wrapping up!
