Joerg introduces the call and explains that as Soumya is travelling we have taken over his call slot

We wll discuss the face to face agenda, the open day and the plugfest

any other agenda topics?

[no]

F2F Agenda

There are 3 main topics for us to consider at the face to face: we want to wrap up the draft document(s) for the task force investigations for the technology landscape.

The second is clarifying the work items and scope for the charter for the proposed working group.

The third is discuss how to make the practical work of the plugfest a regular activity

The F2F page has the draft agenda, see: https://www.w3.org/WoT/IG/wiki/F2F_meeting_2016,_January,_26th_–_28th,_France,_Nice#Meeting_Agenda

Joerg invites people to comment and add new agenda items as appropriate.

The meeting will start on Monday 25th Jan with preparations for the plugfest - there won’t be a formal agenda for this day. This is time to set things up, perform experiments, chat etc.

Tuesday 26th Jan will be the open day and demos in the late afternoon.

Joerg runs through the agenda as shown on the above wiki page.

In the afternoon, there will be an introduction to the plugfest with pitches by the implementers

Michael: I would like to participate remotely in the plugfest as I will unable to attend in person

Joerg: I will check with Eurecom to see if they can support remote participation for plugfest demos

Dave: Tibor Pardi would like to do a remote demo (NodeJS server and security)

Michael and Tibor need to add themselves to the table on the plugfest page

Joerg asks implementors to prepare a couple of slides for the implementor pitches

The demos will then start after coffee break

In the evening, there is a social event

any questions?

On Wednesday, we will have reports from each of the task forces followed by break outs

This continues on Thursday morning. The afternoon will be for the work organisation, upcoming face to faces, working group charter, and plans for outreach

Johannes summarises

He mentions the efforts to reach out to groups for specific protocols.

Joerg: every task force will need to focus on finishing the technology landscape

We lack agenda details for each task force - this should be added in the next few days

Carsten: the security discussions cross task force boundaries, will we have joint sessions for that?

Joerg: that’s up to the task force leaders to arrange, there will also be plenary discussion at 4:30pm on Wednesday

any further questions on the agenda?

[no]

Please feel free to to email Joerg with comments/questions or to edit the agenda wiki page directly

Joerg asks Carsten if there are any T2TRG points we should add to the agenda?

Carsten: we’re happy with the W3C setting the agenda for this meeting.

Plugfest logistics and preparation

We received a request to hold demos on Tuesday. Monday is therefore now for preparation and set up

Implementors should therefore plan to meet at Eurecom on Monday

Please remember to add your details to the implementors table for the plugfest

Johannes: bilateral testing is valuable, so we hope to try this on Monday

Joerg: are you seeking contributions on GitHub for the plugfest?

[no answer]

If you haven’t already done so, please register tomorrow at the latest for the face to face.

It is a two step approach including payment to cover the catering costs for Eurecom to host the meeting

This is everything I had for today

Joerg: I look forward to seeing you all in France
... end of meeting …
