<Sebastian> trackbot-ng, start meeting
<trackbot> Meeting: Web of Things Interest Group Teleconference
<trackbot> Date: 14 October 2015
<dsr> meeting: Thing Description Task Force
<dsr> scribenick: dsr
<DarkoAnicic> Sebastian: re-starting the TD webconference after 4 weeks
Sebastian: It has been 4 weeks since our last call, and I am now back from my leave of absence.
We need to recap where we’ve got to.
<DarkoAnicic> Sebastian: what is the status of discussion related to HATEOAS?
<scribe> scribenick: DarkoAnicic
Sebastian: shell we discuss
HATEOAS further or stop the discussion.
... we use always the same link for TD webconferences
<Jaime> Yep, thanks: http://irc.w3.org/?channels=wot-td
<Jaime> self-reference

Victor start the presentation on "JSON-LD Context proposal for Thing Description"
n/start/starts
Victor: a JSON-LD context has
been proposed
... the context can be used to write TDs
... an alternative is to create an RDF representation of a TD.
It is possible to conver such an RDF representation into
JSON-LD with the context.
... ...presenting the RDF version of the TD model...
... the current state of the model is a simple OWL/RDF
ontology. Can be extended if needed.
... with OWL2JSON-LD tool it is possible to convert the OWL/RDF
ontology to the JSON-LD context
... in this way we can maintain consistency of the TD model (in
cases of changes of the mode)
Sebastian: we can use the ontology, and the context in further work as presented by Victor
Dave: concerns about "stability" property
shell it be a decimal number or something else
<dsr> We could add some comments as per http://www.w3.org/TR/owl-guide/
Sebastian: how shell we handle versioning in the TD (e.g., in the development phase)?
Dave: which versioning do you mean?
<dsr> Do you mean the version of the ontoology for the thing description language or the version of a thing itself?
Sebastian: versioning of the context file (e.g., after each F2F there is a major change)
so that we know later on about which version we are talking about
<dsr> The guide notes: owl:priorVersion is a standard tag intended to provide hooks for version control systems working with ontologies.
Victor: there is currently the version of the ontology, it is v0.3
Sebastian: let us see the current content of the TD Sample folder on GIT (i.e., exisitng Thing Descriptions, available so far)
<dsr> link: https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/TF-TD/TD%20Samples
Sebastian: please upload further
TDs for plugfest
... the folder to upload to: https://github.com/w3c/wot/tree/master/TF-TD/TD%20Samples
... are there open question regarding the plugfest
n/question/questions
Dave: there are questions related to logistics, do we need to bring a router etc. - see respective emails from the mailing list
<michael> http://www.w3.org/2007/OWL/wiki/Ontology_Versions
Dave: there is a web page concerning these issues.
Sebastian: please add your demo and requirements to the web page
<michael> http://www.slideshare.net/badenhughes/change-management-and-versioning-in-ontologies
Sebastian: there will be a breakout session at the F2F in Sapporo, any proposal for agenda
Dave: what are the processing
models for data?
... see email discussion
<dsr> One way this impacts the data model serialisation is whether it is necessary to process the models into a set of RDF triples and operate on those, or whether this can be avoided through direct access to a hierarchical data model.
<dsr> extracted from https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-wot-ig/2015Oct/0005.html
<dsr> Darko: we should distinguish between requirements for processing messages and data models
Victor: data model can be in JSON-LD (supporting semantics), and messages could be simple in JSON (easy to process)
Michael: the context separates the content and the data model
Dave: metadata could be distinguished, e.g., this related to protocols
<dsr> We should also discuss communications metadata e.g. what is needed to talk to a given server
Dave: we should have a clear
roadmap what we want to produce during the breakout
session
... and later in the WG
Sebastian: shell we define the agenda in advance
Dave: let us use a wiki page to gather propsoals
<dsr> we need to plan work on an Interest Group Note for thing descriptions
<scribe> ACTION: Sebastian to create a wiki page [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/10/14-wot-td-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot> 'Sebastian' is an ambiguous username. Please try a different identifier, such as family name or username (e.g., sha, skbisch).
joerg: to clarify with Carsten infomration related to a joint meeting with T2T IRTF
<scribe> ACTION: skbisch to create a wiki page for F2F agenda propsoal [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/10/14-wot-td-minutes.html#action02]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-12 - Create a wiki page for f2f agenda propsoal [on Sebastian Käbisch - due 2015-10-21].
