<ebruchez> ok, just joined

XForms day 5th Nov

[No link]

Steven: XML Amsterdam had so many XForms-related submissions they asked me to organise an XForms day
... so I'm happy to receive suggestions for inclusion
... I have a few tentative acceptances already

Philip: I'll see what's possible.

Nick: I don't think I can make it.

Steven: Nothing to report.

Steven: I've had contact with Mark Seaborne; he may well come to the XForms day, he will join the call in 2 week's time.

ACTION-2029 - Check that integer promotes successfully to double

Steven: So you are suggesting that it would work backwards compatibility, Nick?

Nick: In most cases yes

Erik: My conclusion was that I had an example that wouldn't work backwards compatibly

Nick: I thought 'substring' would convert to string, but you have to do it manually.
... OK, then I'm wrong

<nvdbleek> http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath20/#id-incompat-in-true-mode#id-incompat-in-false-mode

Erik: My problem isn't what happens when you return an empty sequence, but what happens when you DON'T return one.
... So I don't think it will work, even in compatibility mode
... (I could be wrong ... big spec)

Steven: Have you made this edit already Erik?

Erik: No, not yet.
... I can't log in at the moment

Var and dependencies

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-forms/2015Jan/0001.html

Nick: Let me find my reply....

<nvdbleek> The spec notes in http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/wiki/XForms_2.0#The_var_element that variables are not supported directly under de model element only in actions. So you have two cases:

<nvdbleek> - variable is in an ACTION: It acts as it is reevaluated when the action is executed

<nvdbleek> - variable outside and action and outside the model: Like other UI bindings the variable act as if it is calculated on every refresh

Alain: That's OK for me.

Steven: That was easy. Solved.

AOB

Steven: Nick, can I ask you to refresh your knowledge on the remaining issues of yours for the next call?

Nick: Sure

Steven: Next call next week, same time.
