Action Items

https://www.w3.org/Fonts/WG/track/actions/open

Vlad: Reminder: face to face is in one month!

action-168

<trackbot> action-168 -- Roderick Sheeter to Measure RAM usage for woff2 vs. woff1 -- due 2015-08-19 -- OPEN

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/Fonts/WG/track/actions/168

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webfonts-wg/2015Aug/0010.html

tl;dr

WOFF2 uses modestly more memory than WOFF, averaging 1.05x. At the median

there was no memory increase. The worst result was 1.7x more memory for

WOFF2 decompression.

Vlad: Why did the one take much more

rsheeter: didn't debug into that

<ChrisL> yes these are minor increases in decompression speed and memory which is the important one

close action-168

<trackbot> Closed action-168.

action-174

<trackbot> action-174 -- Chris Lilley to Ask webappsec to review woff2 -- due 2015-08-26 -- OPEN

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/Fonts/WG/track/actions/174

ChrisL: no update

<ChrisL> will send them a reminder

action-178

<trackbot> action-178 -- Vladimir Levantovsky to Add the hmtx transform to spec -- due 2015-08-26 -- OPEN

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/Fonts/WG/track/actions/178

Vlad: started editing spec, added one more test to cts. Target completion next week.

<Vlad> http://dev.w3.org/webfonts/WOFF2/spec/#conform-mustBeRejected-FailTransform

<Vlad> https://www.w3.org/Fonts/WG/wiki/TestPlan20-UserAgent#mustBeRejected-FailTransform

(discussion of how to specify test)

conclusion: one test with transform too high on a table that is typically transformed, one with a non-null transform on a table that has no transform

(furious live editing, either heavy-fingered or on a mechanical keyboard or both)

font duel at dawn! choose your second!

<ChrisL> seems good to me

Vlad: any reason this would be hard to implement?

Khaled: Nope

Vlad: Any other topics?

Khaled: We don't have a test for a valid TTC

<ChrisL> agree we need a valid collection to test

(need to add to spec and test suite)

action Vlad Add test for valid collection to spec & CTS

<trackbot> Created ACTION-184 - Add test for valid collection to spec & cts [on Vladimir Levantovsky - due 2015-09-09].

(today you can probably implement TTC support as: if ttc, reject, and pass spec)

scribe: who is "+"??

<jfkthame> or rsheeter's present++

<ChrisL> ha

<jfkthame> absent++

<Vlad> rrsagent make minutes
