Approval of Minutes

<dbooth> Aug 4: http://wiki.hl7.org/index.php?title=ITS_RDF_Concall_Minutes_20150804

David: motion to approve minutes

<dbooth> Minutes approved!

Tony: second

Paul: minutes approved

HL7 Project Scope Statement (PSS) for computable semantic links from FHIR to RIM

David: lively discussion on rdf call, no conclusion
... issue will be taken up by another group (maybe TSC)

<dbooth> Here are notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14RFfP4ehHz_WOwS0G6VH0ibE1aDjuUWXC4flDKcfp4w/edit#heading=h.5s23506fdi18

<dbooth> ended up as: "Tony to discuss this with TSC leadership and see how they want to handle it."

FHIR RDF and Validation/Translation Task Force

<dbooth> Discussed decimal precision, but ultimately no changes to previous decision.

<dbooth> Discussion started around JSON, but ended up not not affecting RDF anyway.

<dbooth> Paul: The issue is really about labs wanting their results to be displayed as they report them.

Side-by-side example of two FHIR RDF approaches

<dbooth> http://wiki.hl7.org/images/2/25/FHIR_RDF_Sample_side_by_side_comparisons.pdf

Tony: going through things already agreed to, all primitive types removed

(most primitive types removed)

<dbooth> lines 29-44

Tony: cardinallity solved on object properties but not on data properties
... codeable concept defines restriction on the conept base, the coding base and code base define the constraints

<Zakim> ericP, you wanted to ask is it useful if i update the XSLT used in http://www.w3.org/2015/06/FHIR-RDF/fromXML ?

Tony: It depends on what you transfer from, we may need to transform from element definitions not the xml schema
... element definition meta-model is the base language, describes the profiles and that language can be used in the profiles

<Zakim> dbooth, you wanted to say that Eric's XSLT transformation is the first auto translation that we have to FHIR RDF, so it seems helpful.

<dbooth> line 203

<dbooth> david: if one RDF dataset has a fhir:Coding, with no fhir:ConceptBase.text (which is prohibited in a fhir:Coding), then you merge with other data that adds a fhir:ConceptBase.text, then it would violate that constraint.

<dbooth> ISSUE: Should our FHIR RDF ontology restrict Coding.text to cardinality 0, which would prevent that ontology from being usable with FHIR RDF that is combined with non-FHIR RDF data that adds a text property?

<trackbot> Created ISSUE-14 - Should our fhir rdf ontology restrict coding.text to cardinality 0, which would prevent that ontology from being usable with fhir rdf that is combined with non-fhir rdf data that adds a text property?. Please complete additional details at <http://www.w3.org/2014/HCLS/track/issues/14/edit>.

<dbooth> line 354

<dbooth> looking at lines 354-356

<dbooth> The <http://snomed.info/id/90614001> thing is actually a SNOMED class that has a name and rdfs:label.

<dbooth> eric: I could hard-wire special SNOMED rules into the XSLT. Might make it a separate step in the pipeline.

<dbooth> ... Express in FHIR RDF, then pepper it with more info from the ontologies, then from the FHIR ont, then ideally another ont for more useful things like treating record dates uniformly.

<dbooth> ... The FHIR folks say to round-trip we cannot have extra info: need to transform directly or generate and recognize it as discardable on roundtripping.

<dbooth> ... I'll focus on the first step in the XSLT.

Tony: FHIR declares coding systems as valueset-system

<dbooth> tony: Lines 465-469 show how the proper system prefix can be determined.

<dbooth> eric: Ideally that should be in the vocab ont, such as SNOMED ont.

<dbooth> eric: It doesn't capture version though.

<dbooth> tony: There's a declaration for version in SNOMED, but not shown.

Tony: made it to the end of section 4 in the document
