Ivan: "Today will be a short meeting because Peter, who was supposed to talk, is sick."

^^ Markus not ivan apologies

Tzviya: "We should introduce Patrick Keating"

Markus: "Any issues in approving last weeks minutes? No - approved."

<tzviya> http://www.w3.org/2015/03/30-dpub-minutes.html
...: "What we do when new people join, we ask them what they do and what their interests are. If you don't mind, brief intro."

Patrick: "I work for Bluefire productions. Based off adobe arm SDK. Are members of redium, and making a new product based on readium SDK - epub 3. That's our goal, rendering epub3 and the reading systems around that."

<tmichel> who are +1.646.336.aabb and +1.206.849.aacc ?

Markus: "In terms of this interest group's work, do you know where you'd be interested in working?"

Patrick: "Might be useful to have an implementer working on things. That would be the angle I'm coming from. I'm personally interested in interactivity - primarily - and my company is trying to embrace accessibility. Although I'm not sure yet what sort of emphasis I'd like to bare."

Markus: "I believe you are the first - at least core readium person - within this WG. If that's true, that fact alone is great news, as we greatly appreciate participation from the readium group."

<clapierre1> Benetech also works with the folks from Readium

Patrick: "yes, it's great to be able to link up what's happening in the Readium group with what's happening here."

Markus: "Moving on, on last week's call we talked about digital publishing module for ARIA roles. Described situation of where we were trying to get to FPWD (first public working draft). Good to be able to address semantics in HTML5. We still need consensus positions from PF and (???). We postponed the consesus call until this week. One week has now passed, where do people think we are for

FPWD?"

Tzviya: "I can give a little bit of an update..."

Heather: "Last week there was some question as to things like the Abstract role, but I wasn't sure where the ARIA group itself had come to."

Tzviya: "We had our weekly taskforce meeting with PF on Thursday. We are scheduled - most of the group was at a face-to-face - and we agreed to a few things. Michael Cooper is going to do a brief description on what a 'module' is. This would be the first ARIA module ever, so this would help clarify some issues - such as prefixing."
...: "We are supposed to have a call with PF next week, not the entire representatives though. Most of the questions were coming from PF. Part of the reason that these issues arose is that there seemed to be some issues with PF that were surprised that these issues arose. They were surprised that role:abstract had any sort of concerns. When members return from their face-to-face we'll be

having another meeting to discuss. We've also asked people in PF, if they can put all of these issues in GITHub, which will let us move forward with these issues raised."

markus: "I guess one way to put it - at this point - is as this work goes on on the PF side - adding issues to the tracker, it still remains an interesting datapoint if this IG has issues with the working draft."
... "So, let's try a consensus call. Are there any objections to publish?"

...: "OK, we'll do an e-mail announcement of this as well, since not everyone is on the call. Tzviya has action item to send out email about the consensus"

<tzviya> action Tzviya send consensus call for DPUB ARIA module

<trackbot> Created ACTION-49 - Send consensus call for dpub aria module [on Tzviya Siegman - due 2015-04-27].

Nick: "Did the email thread on ARIA and Abstract have any resolution or just tons of wonderful suggestions?"

Tzviya: "Some of the discussions that came from PF need to be resolved on PF. There are some discussions around philosophy that will never really lead to a resolution."
... "The discussions need to be had with PF before any real resolution."
... "If there is never a resoltuion, we can't publish the document, but we can publish without a resolution knowing one will come."

Markus: "In terms of resolution, it's just a data point feeding into the publication of the document. When it comes to the terms and the definitions, we can always make further adjustments."

Tzviya: "if we go to PF and say: 'All of DPUB supports this' it makes a stronger case."

<mgylling> https://www.w3.org/dpub/IG/wiki/May_2015_F2F_Logistics_and_Details

Markus: "Next up: the May face-to-face. Lets finalize the agenda today."
... "Adding an item of 'Education and Outreach' best done EOD around the re-chartering. We'll put that in. Possibly in the same block here. We can give possibly a little bit more time than the 2 hours given. The only other potential addition is around accessibility. Charles? Deborah?"

Charles: "Deborah was out all week, haven't had a chance to reconnect."

Deborah: "Sorry, I've been catching up. will talk to charles today."

Markus: "Unless we can settle it now? One question I have - Are there any features missing in the accessibility spec that pertains to publishing? Your work so far has been on the ??? reverse angle rights? "

Charles: "That was going to be one of our topics - once we finalize the WCAG? techniques. We have a couple of major sections to go through. we were going to have a scheduled meeting to talk about that specific topic. I don't know if there is going to be enough people at the face-to-face on the accessibility team to be able to do it."

Tzviya: "We've talked to external groups OUTSIDE of the W3C in collaborating. Maybe we should have some concrete topics about collaboration to discuss, this would be a great opporunity. the other point is not accessibility - but WHO WILL BE THERE?!"

Markus: "Charles/Deborah, we don't want to change the agenda so close to the meeting, but let me know if you'd like a session let me know."

Deborah: "We should be able to talk today."

Markus: "I do not know either if we'll have critical mass at that meeting, so it is a difficult thing. We could try though? Better to try than accept defeat"

Tzivya: "Collaboration in related to accessibility."

Markus: "Unless other additions, lets consider the agenda frozen."
... "The STEM survey results. Again we'll postpone that. As for final agenda topics for the next phone. Let's put Peter back on the agenda hoping he is better. Is there any other taskforce that would like time on the agenda?"

Tzviya: "Seems there is lots of discussion about identifiers. Bill is in Australia and not sure when he's getting back."

Markus: "For next week: STEM survey results, possibly Identifiers with Bill K. Anything else?"

<HeatherF> thanks@
