<scribe> ScribeNick: ShaneM
richardschwerdtfeger: Fred Esch
has been approved to join PF. Graphics expert that works on IBM
visual analytics
... has been working on a taxonomy for charts and graphs and is
coming to the working group.
RESOLUTION: Make the minutes from 3 September public as submitted.
janina: up to our eyeballs with
tasks. going to be a very busy week.
... no draft of topics yet but will be put together soon.
richardschwerdtfeger: name computation demo may not be Cyns. Rich is going to try to put something together.
janina: HTML, dpub, svg, css, etc.
<MichaelC> action-1503?

<MichaelC> Linked Data Platform Paging 1.0
ShaneM will read through it but would be surprised if it needed special A11Y attention.
Bryan is exploring whether it makes sense to publish this via the W3C.
scribe: he wants it to be a 'living' document. W3C doesn't have that category.
janina: Is this a note or a tutorial. Is this something EO should maintain? Can they maintain it?
cyns: Could also go to webplatform.org since it is not very technical - it is mostly EO stuff.
jamesn: how does it fit in with
authoring practices for ARIA? This document seems to be trying
to put ARIA into context.
... if this document is trying to do the same thing as
authoring practices, maybe they can be merged rather than
having two documents that do the same thing.
<MichaelC> http://www.webplatform.org/
janina: if it fits in there in jamesn and Matt's opinion, then we should look at that.
cyns: I wonder if the authoring practices should migrate to webplatform.org too?
Discussion about how webplatform.org needs more work. They are open to A11Y content.
cyns: Bryan has written some. Which is a way to help with that.
<LisaSeeman> i need to steop out
janina: we need to figure out
where it will fit, but we should tell bryan we are interested
in the document. Possibly under the JamesN / Matt authoring
activity.
... then we can explore whether we can get the legal stuff
resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
richardschwerdtfeger: the document covers HTML5 and ARIA?
janina: yes, I think so.
richardschwerdtfeger: we don't
talk about the HTML5 specific features in the authoring guides
right now. We need to ensure there are no conflicts between the
contribution and the authoring guides.
... Steve's has a document too, right?
janina: Steve doesn't seem to have a problem with this new document. He only mentioned that the W3C doesn't have a living document concept.
richardschwerdtfeger: we have
agreed that Joseph is going to build the first draft of the
name computation module for the guide.
... SVG specification talks about native semantics and it will
use the 'none' role which means it will be tied to ARIA
1.1
... Will discuss whether there is a group role used on the
Monday after next.
jamesn: Have not yet had time to link up with Matt but will do so soon.
HTML task force talked about common issues of interest for TPAC. Came up with at least six topics that we need to discuss at the F2F.
<janina> http://www.w3.org/2014/09/04-PR-html-longdesc/
scribe: the core interest right now is longdesc. CR is complete and there is a cfc out right now to progress to PR
longdesc will not move to the next stage until the FO is dealt with by the director.
expect some sort of a response from the director relatively soon.
expect similar objections to describedat.
<LisaSeeman> (Im back)
What is up with the media task force?
janina: been too busy. We need to
circle back with Shawn about EO edits.
... looking for a new chair. MarkS was doing a lot of work but
has left W3C.
LisaSeeman: working on getting
the second editors draft together. migrated to github.
... hopefully will have something to look at soon.
