ACTION items due by Thursday, July 17

None.

Decisions this week

WG decision to publish <picture> as a WG Note

<rubys> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Jul/0011.html

<rubys> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Jul/0030.html

May hold this up to get srcset WG Note before the WG

New Calls this week

CfC: Request transition of HTML5 to Candidate Recommendation

<rubys> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Jul/0012.html

Some discussion about whether a TR page document should have been published instead of using a candidate draft.

Shane: Should the Acknowledgement section say anything about Microdata development especially since it is no longer in the spec.

Paul: Didn't Microdata move off the Rec track.

Sam: We previously asked that this material be removed.
... Shane: Please open a bug if you want about this.

Testing Task Force

No new news.

Accessibility Task Force

janina: using Alt in HTML5 publication has been held up since the Status section is inappropriate for a WG Note. It represented itself as an Editors draft.
... The TF facilitators are going to fix this text before the publication.
... No new CfCs are required. Just fixing the STOD.
... 2nd item was status of longdesc

<paulc_> scribenick: paulc_

Janina: janina is working on a response to the objection received on the TF CfC
... TF also discussed access keys and date pickers today
... possible work on an extension spec on access keys

Media Task Force

Paul: MSE heartbeat will be published today (not yet visible on TR page)
... EME is down to 21 bugs and summer vacations caused this week's TF meeting to be cancelled
... TF has a EME use case Wiki that came out of the april f2f that needs to be reviewed
... Media TF will meet next week to discuss new MSE bugs, MSE test cases and EME bugs
... TF will likely meet every 2 weeks over the summer

Any other business

DOM4 call for exclusions

<rubys> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Jul/0006.html

HTML5 CR schedule

Looks like the CR schedule will end about the end of Aug (assuming current transition CfC passes)

If we exit HTML5 CR successfully then we would move on to PR in Sept

Paul: There are features at risk in the HTML5 spec but if there is no interop proof they can be dropped before moving to PR

AOB?

Shane: PF WG question: DOM4 is proceeding. PF WG has been asking for a feature for some time.
... given that DOM4 is in one WG and DOM Events is outside the WG, where does PF WG ask for this feature.

paulc: So when DOM4 was moved into the HTML WG it was done to solve the Normative Reference problem
... we needed a stable DOM4 to permit HTML5 to progress
... but the email list for discussion is still www-dom@w3.org (?)

<rubys> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-dom/

paulc: so I believe regardless of its status in the WG, I suggest PF WG ask their question on www-dom@w3.org
... feel free to cross post to the DOM Events list but hopefully you will get the right answer

Glenn: are there implementations of the feature.

Shane: The feature request being able to enumerate events

<glenn> that should read "enumerate event listeners"

Shane: There are hidden implementations of the ability enumerate but not a public interface or standard
... Not currently exposed but it would be super useful for some PF WG use cases
... Original historical request for this enumeration ability occurred as early as 1999

Janina: Original use case was testing

Glenn: Perhaps being able to enumerate event listeners that have been added by injected code, e.g., add-ons and extensions is another use case

Sam: Any other AOB

Chair and Scribe for next week

Paul will Chair next week.

Shane volunteered to scribe next week.

Adjournment
