ACTION-1312).

<trackbot> ACTION-1312 -- James Craig to Change presentation example from <span> to generic <example> element which does not have the same baggage as span, with varying cross-browser implementations. -- due 2013-12-09 -- OPEN

Brief update re: GNOME A11y Comments on UAIG

js: We sent formal responses to comments from Gnome A11Y group

minor edits to UAIG

most put off to 1.1

group has consensus to proceed to CR

mc: need to record formal consensus tomorrow

js: will add note to draft

<clown> "Roles given in this document for ATK and for AT-SPI were implemented at the time of publication. However, the maintainers of <a href="#ref_ATK>ATK</a> and of <a href="#ref_AT-SPI>AT-SPI</a> have informed W3C that they have re-engineered several of the roles listed in this specification.  Developers are, therefore, strongly urged to consult the most current implementation specification draft for current, preferred values."

ISSUE-629 (Cynthia) - Progress on Menu event testing in IE11.

<clown> issue-629?

<trackbot> issue-629 -- Unable to test ie11 as inconsistent with menu event mapping table due to lack of support of msaa column -- open

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/issues/629

cs: have been testing

unclear right now if failures are because of IE bug or UAIG bug

only failures are that start / end menu events not getting sent

maybe that´s old / deprecated

maybe we can just remove those from the table?

mc: does that impact other UAs?

<not sure>

mc: we changed risk statement from removing, to making informative

cs: ok, can live with that, at least it would still be there

seems hard editorially to make just one row informative?

mc: yes

cs: seems ok to proceed with current risk statement then

revisit in 1.1

js: need this by 17 Jan?

mc: that´s for new implementations to make themselves known

for existing ones, there might be wiggle room

but not much if we want to publish in 28 Jan

js: Webkit might make the timeline

cs: haven´t yet filed a bug, still trying to determine if this was intentional change

ACTION-1311 (All) - Tables and role="presentation". (See also

js: MK noted Firefox re-implemented role=presentation

turned into huge string

<clown> action-1311?

<trackbot> action-1311 -- Joseph Scheuhammer to Clarify that presentation role should preserve separation of nodes within tables/lists; work out in UAIG 1.1 and with implementors/vendors how to resolve this. -- due 2014-01-31 -- OPEN

<trackbot> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/actions/1311

so created this action for 1.1

clarify that when stripping table structure, concatenate the strings

<clown> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=945435

have separate nodes for each string

<clown> IA2_ROLE_TEXTFRAME

cs: IE effectively turns table elements into span

FF has fixed by putting above in for each TD

seems to work for AT

don´t know about linux version though

Splitting up the UAIG into core and module documents (All).

rs: Rich wants to split UAIG into a core and peripheral modules

ARIA module would be core

then HTML and SVG would be peripherals

cs: need bigger discussion on this

mc: yes, at FtF in Jan

personally ok with core + modules but don´t think ARIA is the core

hard to define what is

not sure we can decide much in this caucus, need consensus of PFWG and affected groups

js: and browser implementers

ARIA 1.1 UAIG issues/actions:

<clown> https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/Group/track/products/23

cs: not ready to think about 1.1 yet ;)

ARIA 1.1 issues/actions:

js: no point covering this, the energy´s not there today

our quorum is a bit light

Next meeting

js: will be here 17 Dec, then away, back for 7 Jan

cs: similar

mc: similar

js: so that´ll be the meeting schedule, 17 Dec, then off, resume 7 Jan

next week might be short
