Summary of last week discussion

Agreement was to not emphasize the difference between extensional and intensional meaning

Recommend ppl to use reference, but not specify range formally

Philipp: People can refer to skos:Concepts as references

John: We do not recommend to use SKOS as reference

Shortcuts across the path

Steal a sheep not a lamb: include every shortcut

Alessandro: Technical challenges may exist with shortcuts, but the model should not be too complex to use
... The model should also apply to FrameNet

<scribe> ACTION: Alessandro to investigate FrameNet style mapping [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action01]

<scribe> ACTION: John and Philipp to create OWL version of initial draft [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action02]

Validator

Philipp: We should in parallel develop a validator

<scribe> ACTION: John (and Philipp) to develop validator [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action03]

Elena: Still don't like final end of the path... why use conceptualizes in 4-elem path and reference in 3-elem path?

Proposal for Elena is "4-elem path is LexicalEntry->Synset->LexicalSense->Ontology"

<scribe> ACTION: Elena brings discussion to mailing list [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action04]

Use cases

<scribe> ACTION: UPM to further develop modelling of IFLA use case [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action05]

Semagrow

Many tools fail as they do not take into account standards

Use model to better set up alignment scenario

<scribe> ACTION: Add WordNet as use case (John) [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/05/17-ontolex-minutes.html#action06]

Do we want to include vocabulary, not just structure

Philipp: Yes
