Action item review

action-22?

<trackbot> ACTION-22 -- Michael Cooper to organize joint discussion of testing task force and html a11y task force -- due 2011-05-31 -- OPEN

<trackbot> http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/track/actions/22

MC: We might want to make this an agenda request for the face to face.

JS: This is one item we do want to follow up on.

MC: Will make a note.

CMN: Will you keep this action?

MC: Yes.

<MichaelC> action-22 due 22 April

<trackbot> Set ACTION-22 Organize joint discussion of testing task force and html a11y task force due date to 22 April.

<MichaelC> action-22: request joint discussion of testing a11y features at the 2013 joint FtF

<trackbot> Notes added to ACTION-22 Organize joint discussion of testing task force and html a11y task force.

<chaals> RESOLUTION: action-22 new due date 2012-01-29

JB: There is a testing meeting next week, I'll be talking there, what are your thoughts about the relatedness of this action item Philippe?

<paulc> I would suggest that A11Y TF attend a testing TF distributed meeting and NOT delay this to the April F2F.

<paulc> It is not obvious to me that we will have the right Testing TF people at the April F2F.

PLH: That meeting is to be about testing, it may be that there is a company or individual who could write tests.
... It's about identifying the right resources.

PC: Why would we delay doing this? Agree with Philippe. If you ask them what they're doing about a11y, they'll ask us what we're doing about it.
... My suggestion - do this earlier rather than later.

CMN: Michael you happy with the deadline of the 29th January?

MC: Not sure I'm the appropriate person to approach them.

CMN: Suggestions?
... We could assign it to Judy?

JB: No.

SF: What form of a11y testing will be happening?

JS: It's vital to define how much testing will happen.
... For CR we'll have to test all the "must" statements and we'll need a strategy for that.
... We could talk to the DRM people about a test case to test whether DRM will affect AT users for example.

JF: Encrypted media - is that not an extension spec?

<paulc> There is at least one early EME implementation. I suggest that someone work with that implementation to prove if there are any problems. And if there are problems then file bugs.

CMN: Will someone take the item?

JF: I'm not seeing the direct link to HTML5 and CR.

JB: We want to make sure all the a11y features are tested by the end of CR.

JF: Agree we need to stay on top of testing.

<paulc> Judy said "test all the features". If there is existing interoperability then the HTML 5 CR exit criteria can accept that evidence instead of insisting on testing all features.

SF: We definitely need to test where ARIA roles are mapped to HTML elements.
... Happy to look at that aspect.

sub-team reports

JB: Text sub team has some bugs from triage to bring to the TF.

<chaals> LW: Triage - all canvas and ARIA backlog cleared. waiting on text subteam, media subteam (and chaals).

<chaals> … suggestion from Silvia to take forward her proposals.

<janina> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2012Nov/0040.html

<chaals> Bug 12964 (LC1) RESO-NEED-INFO "<video>: Declarative linking of full-text

<chaals> transcripts to video and audio elements"

JS: Related to an action with John.

<chaals> Bug 13273 (LC1) RESO-NEED-INFO "Clarify text in media element user interface section"

JF: First two bugs are assigned to me. The first one, given time/date it'll probably have to be an extension spec. Not sure how e kick that off?

CMN: In that case we should shift it it to 5.1?

JS: Or to the HTML-A11y TF?

CMN: Suggest keeping it in HTML.

JF: Being tracked by issue 194.

<chaals> https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12964

JS: Are those issue numbers still relevant?

CMN: They're relevant because they often have pointers to the bugs.

JF: 13273 is related to the action I'll do for a couple of weeks.

CMN: Silvia thought this one could be closed.

<paulc> FTR ISSUE-194 was one of the issues that "plan 2014" said should be done as an extension spec.

<chaals> Bug 8657 (pre-LC1) RESO-NEED-INFO "Allow UA to reload fallback content if loading fails"

CMN: Can close.

<chaals> Bug 10841 (pre-LC1) RESO-NEED-INFO "We require a method to allow the user

<chaals> to control playback timing in order to have more time to understand the

<chaals> material."

JF: It's an implementation problem. The method exists.

CMN: Can close.

<chaals> Bug 10842 (pre-LC1) RESO-NEED-INFO "Support the isolation of speech from other background sounds in AV media"

CMN: Silvia suggests closing.
... Could handle through WCAG/UAAG.

JF: Looking at 841, 842 and 843 - handling through UAAG makes sense. Suggest we close but forward to UAAG WG.

JB: Definitely worth asking them to take a look.

<chaals> ACTION: johnfoliot to forward bugs 10841, 10842, 10843 to UAAG [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/01/24-html-a11y-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Error finding 'johnfoliot'. You can review and register nicknames at <http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/track/users>.

JF: I'll contact UAAG and let them know we're closing these bugs, but that they might want to take a look at them.

<chaals> ACTION: john_foliot to forward bugs 10841, 10842, 10843 to UAAG [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2013/01/24-html-a11y-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Error finding 'john_foliot'. You can review and register nicknames at <http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/track/users>.

CMN: 10642 - The poster issue.

JF: Can be closed, I withdrew my formal objection.

<paulc> I have to go to the WG meeting.

<chaals> [Thanks Léonie for scribing]
