Deliverables

bhyland: what the status of the vocabs? what feedback?

<olyerickson> mute me.

George had a meeting with some editors to schedule what next with Dave and Richard.

scribe: regarding data cube vocab

Getting feedback folded into Data Cube Vocab -

<bhyland> input from cygri & Dave Reynolds …

cygri: They have to make a new Working draft due for november, before last call at the beginning of 2013

<bhyland> cygri: The main editors of the Cube Vocab are Cygri & Dave Reynolds

<PhilA2> Eurostat http://eurostat.linked-statistics.org/

<bhyland> … Benedikt is helping with Use Cases

philA2: Eurostat has published a dataset using DQ

<bhyland> PhilA2: The Data Cube Vocab is being used in millions of RDF statements about EU statistics

<bhyland> "The Eurostat data made available here covers a http://eurostat.linked-statistics.org/#dataspace-origin from economy over demographics to trade and transport data. You can use the data, for example, to learn about national statistics, explore an industrial area or compare agricultural data across regions. In the following we show you some exemplary (cross-dataset) SPARQL queries kindly provided by http://www.linkedin.com/in/sorenroug from the European Environmen

<bhyland> Nice!

<bhyland> … Paul van Hermans is Brussels-based consultant who set this up.

Great news indeed..

cygri: for the Eurostat dataset, they have also contributed as well, cygri and Benedikt
... DERI, mhausenblas,

<bhyland> @cygri - what are the main things you and Dave want to get done on the Data Cube vocab by November?

<George> ?

cygri: Eurostat dataset is a great data..but still need to work on how to find stuff inside

<PhilA2> This is the tweet I saw from Paul Van Hermans https://twitter.com/PaulZH/status/245598405462745088

bhyland: what are the issues to address in DQ for november?

<bhyland> Cygri: There are some issues from practical use of Data Cube Vocab. SGMX has some impact that we want to check & verify

bhyland: but if we don't have time, it will not change the quality of the work

PhilA2: About deadline, F2F meetings help to push works

How to progress deliverables in spite of travel restrictions ...

<bhyland> PhilA2: Suggested day long virtual Google hangout ...

PhilA2: maybe we need to find something creative (e.g: Googlehangout, etc)

<bhyland> … A way to help us all meet deadlines with mild professional peer pressure

<bhyland> +1

<cygri> +1

PhilA2: many WG make 4 F2F year..

TPAC planning

<olyerickson> Previous TPAC was ginormous

<olyerickson> unmute me

PhilA2: before TPAC was a huge event, with several meetings

TPAC planning & increasing F2F time

<bhyland> http://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC2012/SessionIdeas#Linked_Data:_Helping_Public_Sector_to_Publish_High_Quality_Data

<bhyland> @Ghislain, please mute yourself

PhilA2: is really a big event in W3C, a way to integrate with other WG, interchange with others, a great social occasion

<olyerickson> previous TPAC was O(500) people

<PhilA2> s/San Diego/San Francisco/

olyerickson: The previous TPAC in San Francisco was one of the biggest one, with more than 500 persons

<bhyland> http://www.w3.org/wiki/TPAC2012/SessionIdeas#Linked_Data:_Helping_Public_Sector_to_Publish_High_Quality_Data

<olyerickson> ack

bhyland: ask for feedback to better prepare TPAC presentation

<cygri> but we have one editor from each spec?

George: Do we have enough editors in this call ?

Vocabulary Schedule / dates for DCAT

<olyerickson> I don't know what the final DCAT steps are

<bhyland> DIscussed: http://www.w3.org/TR/vocab-dcat/

cygri: Do we have an evidence of progress to have a charter extension?

George: We could capture our needs by mails, a minute, and so on...

PhilA2: It depends on the need of the community, and do what our members want to do

<bhyland> PhilA2: An extension signals that charter deliverables have not yet been met but signals that they *will* be met within the timeframe.

PhilA2: an extension is a signal that the charter was not made, why not? Is there any guarantee to finish it in an extension date

<bhyland> PhilA2: Put some dates out there around deliverables & progress

<bhyland> … wiki page that lays out the timeline & details for meeting our deliverables.

<cygri> http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/Main_Page#Deliverables

George: Is that satisfy some of your questions before?

<bhyland> Cygri: The listed deliverables are ambitious. Having a status update on each of them would be helpful.

<Zakim> cygri, you wanted to ask about deliverables

bhyland: Send a post on the mailing list to show up what is actual status of our deliverables

George: What about the people vocab?

<olyerickson> Link please?

<PhilA2> http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/Geography_and_Spatial_Information

People voca is here: http://www.w3.org/TR/vocabb-people/

<bhyland> I asked who put this wiki page up & whether anyone is working on this … I cannot tell from Recent Changes going 6 mos back!

<olyerickson> See http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/index.php?title=Geography_and_Spatial_Information&action=history

<bhyland> Dave Smith, US EPA created the wiki page for Geography & Spatial Info ...

<bhyland> John Goodwin join the Location & Addresses Community Group

<PhilA2> LOCADD http://www.w3.org/community/locadd/

<bhyland> I have to hop … another meeting, goodbye and thank you.

<cygri> http://www.gesis.org/en/events/gesis-workshops/ddi/
